Our solution:

True to the motto “precision through innovation”, CFK has developed an alternative process for manufacturing fir tree profiles in turbine disks. With our wire erosion machines with integrated rotary axis, we can now cut the high-precision profiles in turbine disks more cost-effectively than with the conventional broaching process. Contour and position accuracy, surface quality and the maximum recast layer thickness meet the high requirements for stationary gas turbines. In addition, the production process is reproducible in accordance with the specifications. Another major advantage of this process is that the customer does not have to tie up capital in the form of cost-intensive broaches. We are currently able to machine a maximum size of 750 mm diameter and a maximum weight of 300 kg per turbine disk on our rotary axes. For heavier turbine disks, e.g. turbine disks with a shaft, we have developed an alternative production process without a rotary axis.
