Particularly in the case of small components, incisions and apertures with precise corners and angles can only be realized with EDM.<\/p>\n<p>In manufacturing, the workpiece to be machined is processed in a non-conductive fluid. With this manufacturing process, complex and near-contour three-dimensional geometries can be realized. With the geometric freedoms, this process complements previous conventional manufacturing methods.<\/p>\n<p>In the laser melting process, a defined powder layer is fused with a laser. This is repeated layer by layer, and thus a component is produced using a 3D CAD file. With this manufacturing process, components can be produced with a density of up to 100% and still have the same mechanical characteristics as conventionally manufactured components. Various metallic alloys can be used as powder materials.
